Tim Spence is chairman of the Board of Directors, chief executive officer and president of Fifth Third Bancorp. Spence leads with a steadfast focus on shareholders, customers and colleagues. He measures the Bank’s success by producing the best total return for long-term shareholders and by the trust earned with customers and regulators. Under his leadership, the Bank has achieved top-tier performance metrics among peers by prioritizing stability, profitability, and growth — in that order — while obsessing over how to get 1% better every day and investing meaningfully in the future. His commitment to culture and communities is reflected in strong internal engagement and a bank-wide commitment to volunteerism.
Spence joined the bank in 2015. Prior to Fifth Third, he was a senior partner at Oliver Wyman, where he advised global financial institutions on matters of strategy. Spence also held leadership roles at two growth-stage technology companies.
